Horse Owners On Twitter Had A Lot Of Questions About How Roy Moore Rode His Horse

The internet has a lot of questions about how exactly Roy Moore rides his horse, Sassy.

Source: Twitter

On Tuesday night, Roy Moore lost the Senate race against Democrat Doug Jones in Alabama, largely because black voters showed up at the polls. It was a really close call, and the circus leading up the election (including vocal support from President Donald Trump) was extremely distressing. But forces of good ultimately triumphed.

Unfortunately, not in time to save poor Sassy the horse.

Moore had announced plans to ride to the polls to cast his ballot, presumably for himself. Politico posted footage of Moore struggling with his mount, tweeting "Roy Moore rides away on his horse after voting in the Alabama Senate election." He basically sits in the saddle like a sack of potatoes.

Apparently there is a Horse Twitter, and they were not happy with Moore abusing this poor animal with his incompetence.

"Obviously there are far bigger problems with Roy Moore but boy that man looks terrible on a horse," wrote one concerned user on the platform. Another added, "I don't know what good horse riding skills look like, but I'm almost certain it doesn't look like that. (Disclaimer: I would look worse riding a horse, but I'd never ride to the voting polls on one either.)"

"Like I haven't regularly ridden a horse since childhood but, at minimum: reins gathered in one hand, lean forward, don't stick your legs out like you're on a carousel," said one person. I haven't ridden since I was 11 and my parents took me out to see ponies on one vacation, but even I feel like I know the very basics of horseback riding. Imagine having a horse and not being able to tend to it right.

I don't know what good horse riding skills look like, but I'm almost certain it doesn't look like that. (Disclaimer: I would look worse riding a horse, but I'd never ride to the voting polls on one either.)

the way he's holding the reins is legitimately bizarre and that horse is confused as fuck https://t.co/EAUbfKAOMz

He can't even ride a gaited horse! That's literally the equivalent of not being able to ride a tricycle WITH training wheels on it!

WHAT THE FUCK MY DUDE, WHY MAKE A DRAMATIC HORSE-RELATED EXIT IF YOU'VE APPARENTLY NEVER SAT ON A HORSE BEFORE IN YOUR LIFE pic.twitter.com/bVrIJxiN0z

This is hilarious, his form sucks & that horse was thinking about bucking him pic.twitter.com/NLWfm8QtlY

Rode all my life. If you know what you're doing you guide the horse through. Moore isn't just "all hat, no cattle", he's in "all hat, no horse" territory here.

Like the terrible, contrived joke he is, Roy Moore rode in to vote on a horse, and the horse—bless his soul—is a living *record scratch*/freeze frame. pic.twitter.com/Bcffl7fose

That Roy Moore horse clip needed a soundtrack. pic.twitter.com/O51fN81DBV

Kind reminder that today is not the first day that Roy Moore rode on a horse to vote. BTW, the horse's name is Sassy. #AlabamaSenateRace https://t.co/fM40QNdqNS

Just don't blame poor Sassy. That horse was doing the best it could.

I DID NOT CHOOSE THIS LIFE.

PLEASE, IF HE WINS HE WILL RIDE ME INTO WASHINGTON AND I AM SCARED OF CARS.

An extremely narrow escape for both the horse and America.
